Founded in 1989, the Northwest Leadership Foundation (NLF) has become a respected intermediary in the Pacific Northwest with three strategic service areas including Advancement, Next Gen, and Urban Citizenship. 

NLF responds to emerging issues in the city through collaboration, innovation, and most importantly, transformational leadership.  We rely on the creativity and energy of youth and young adults to identify sustainable solutions to age old problems. Our staff and Board of Directors reflect the diversity and perspective of the clientele we serve.

Our vision is that: old men and women who come back to Tacoma, sit on benches throughout the community and spin tales, and move around safely with their canes –a good city to grow old in; and boys and girls fill the public parks, laughing and playing - a good city to grow up in.
